Podersdorf is over
Great event, lots of fun, not so good result.
It was my first time at the Podersdorf Surf World Cup and it made a great impression on me. The event is really well organised with lots of sponsors, product demos, music and parties.
As for the result I sailed the wrong heat in the first round, and due to a lack of wind did not get a chance to make up for it in a double elimination.
On the bright side my team won the pit walk competition, where we decorated our equipment tents for spectators to come by, check out our equipment and have a chat. Check out the picture of Andy and I hanging out with Snow White.

Arrived in Austria
No wind
I arrived in Austria yesterday early in the morning after an overnight flight. There was a bit of a breeze but barely enough to sail. I got out for a few runs on 5.4 then caught up on some sleep.
The competition starts on the 29th but the forecast does not look promising.

Austria is coming up!!!
Last two days to train in Margarita.
Browsing through some windsurfing websites I stumbled upon some pictures from Podersdorf, Austria, where the first world cup competition of the season will begin on the 29th of April. They were already setting up tents for the sponsors and parties!!! It made me realise how soon the competitoin is...I'm off to the beach in a few minutes for my second last day of training here.
I am slowly adding some pictures to the El Yaque gallery under "Photos" with the slow internet connection here. In a few days I will be home in Canada for a bit and will upload my new video with clips from Jericoacoara and El Yaque. Keep an eye out for it!

El Yaque Update
A few good days in El Yaque
We had a few really good days in El Yaque lately. I got to try out my new 88l Flare with 4.6m Revolution and it is my favourite set-up yet. The combination is really quick and a fun ride. Yesterday I took a day off and today was a light wind day with only an hour or so of sailing. I'm looking forward now to some stronger wind days and many more hours of practice.

Venezuelan National Open
Competition in El Yaque
A well organised event took place here in El Yaque beach, Margarita over the last 3 days. The wind did not meet the El Yaque standards, but there was enough and juniors, womens and mens eliminations were all held along with slalom races. In the mens elimination I advanced two heats vs. Max Rowe from England and Egor Popretinskiy from Russia and in the third heat lost to Venezuelan Ricardo Campello. This put me in 5th place at the end of the contest. Now its back to training and working on some new moves.
